Reach out to touch

The light,

and keep

It in you heart

To warm you when it’s cold

To help you,

Find your way in the dark

To show you the truth,

Hidden beneath the layers of lies

But the light

Will eventually fade

Like a moonless night

Where the shadows prowl

Ready to take you

Thousands of feet walk by

You reach out to them

Asking for help

But they just sigh

and continue

leaving you behind

A thin,

Tattered rag

Is all that clothed you

As you shiver

In the winter air

I hold my hand out

To help you

In your distress

For the world’s a mess

A cruel and ruthless world

I’ll be your light

I’ll help you fight

Everything’s going to be allright

I’ll lend you my shoulder

Until you could stand

Tall and strong

Just hang on

And fight the world

Though it’s winning,

You’ll never lose

If you never

Ever

Giver up hope
