I Didn’t Even
An original song by
Karina D. J.
I woke up early that
morning
Feeling really fine.
School’s out and
summer came,
I haven’t seen you
in such a long time.
I went down to the
pool that day
Where the weather’s
always fair.
But, when I looked
around for you,
I couldn’t see you
there.
I went up to one of
the guys
Who knew you pretty
well.
I said, “Do you
know where he is?
Is there anything
you can tell?”
And he looked down
and said with a sigh,
“He ain’t coming
back.
This winter, he went
out of town
And he’s on a
different track.”
Right then, I felt my heart die
‘Cause I didn’t
even say goodbye.
I couldn’t tell
you how I feel.
I couldn’t believe
how much you hurt me.
Couldn’t believe
it was for real.
I didn’t even say
farewell.
You’ll never know
I love you so,
‘Cause I didn’t
even say goodbye.
I didn’t even say
goodbye.
Summer left and came
again,
And still, you
didn’t show.
I guess what that
guy said was right,
And, there’s still
lots of things you needed to know.
Your picture’s all
I have of you;
An old paper with
your name.
I wish that I could
let you know
My life will never
be the same.
Every night I want to cry
‘Cause I didn’t
even say goodbye.
I couldn’t tell
you how I feel.
I couldn’t believe
how much you hurt me.
Couldn’t believe
it was for real.
I didn’t even say
farewell.
You’ll never know
I love you so…
‘Cause I didn’t
even say goodbye.
I couldn’t tell
you how I feel.
I couldn’t believe
how much you hurt me.
Couldn’t believe
it was for real.
I didn’t even say
farewell.
You’ll never know
I love you so,
‘Cause I didn’t
even say goodbye.
I didn’t even say
goodbye.
I didn’t even say goodbye.
Didn’t even say…
Goodbye.
Katherine read the song over and over again, and sighed. She still couldn’t believe Karina had it in her to write something so… powerful.
“Wow.” She whistled, folding up the paper and putting it in her pocket. Karina had let her keep it because she felt that it was time to move on. A small smile crept across her face as she patted her pocket. “I think I have Michiel’s new address in our team log… and I’ll bet he’ll be pretty flattered” she sighed to no one in particular. Then, with a broad grin on her face, she entered the lifeguard office and searched for the team address book.
