: : Butterfly’s Grave: :

6.2005

Spindles enclose me in a cage of silk,

As I remain here, unable to bilk.

Wrapping arms of protection ‘round my wings,

In darkness, a silent comfort it brings.

---

Yet fully developed, I stay concealed,

Hidden colors of self forever sealed.

Afraid of birth into a world of change,

Where glass and sand will leave me estranged.

---

In this serene tomb overflowin’ with cries,

To fly or fall maintains a ring of lies.

Cotton candy cobwebs engulf me whole,

And over the fire, hangs my damned soul.

---

So I linger in this shell of deceit,

Waitin’ for the day when I shall feel complete.
