Finally back,

I’ve found me again,

Ready to do

What I could not then.

All through my veins

A healing now flows.

I am so happy

That I am alive.

In the looking glass

I see all the good,

But also… alas…

I see the scars,

They cover my body,

My soul they jar.

But as I look

Upon those drained marks,

From risks I took.

Anger consumes,

Why must I recall

When gone was my gloom.

The gash I made

Haunts my tired mind,

Causes me pain.

And now once more,

I feel I must slice,

I long for the gore.

Returned it seems

Have all of my fears,

My nightmares, my dreams.

I have returned,

Back to this torture,

I long to burn.

They told me this

Would always be well,

I’d ne’er long for this.

And now I see,

The world as of bliss

Was not meant for me.
