Finally back,

I’ve found me again,

Ready to do

What I could not then.

-

Finally back,

I can feel it now,

All through my veins

A healing now flows.

-

Finally back,

Concentration’s here,

I can work through

And not shed a tear.

-

Finally back,

And as I strive,

I am so happy

That I am alive.

-

Finally back,

In the looking glass

I see all the good,

But also… alas…

-

Finally back,

I see the scars,

They cover my body,

My soul they jar.

-

Finally back,

But as I look

Upon those drained marks,

From risks I took.

-

Finally back,

Anger consumes,

Why must I recall

When gone was my gloom.

-

Finally back,

The gash I made

Haunts my tired mind,

Causes me pain.

-

Finally back,

And now once more,

I feel I must slice,

I long for the gore.

-

Finally back,

Returned it seems

Have all of my fears,

My nightmares, my dreams.

-

Finally back,

I have returned,

Back to this torture,

I long to burn.

-

Finally back,

They told me this

Would always be well,

I’d ne’er long for this.

-

Finally back,

And now I see,

The world as of bliss

Was not meant for me.

-

Finally back,

I recall my pain,

And although it taunts

It’s norm once again.
