I dream bricks

And with these bricks I build a wall

A wall so high for me to climb

To climb above the highest of the high

Atop the highest mountains

Beyond the highest stars

Then without a shudder nor a sound

The wall begins to fall

And as the dreamy wall atop I stand

Begins to tumble

I fall with every dreamy

Brick

And then before I knew it

The stars

The mountaintops

The highest of the high

Were all so high above me

And there I lie

Battered and beaten

Bruised and broken

In a wasteland of shattered dreams

And then I crawl away

With but only my

Scars and my articulate sword

With that sword

I carve a path on which I

Walk

And I walk this path till my feet are numb

Blistered and bleeding

Tattered and tainted

But no regrets will ever plague me

For after all the climbing

All the suffering

All the crawling

I am left only in triumph

For I’m resting in my

Lover’s Arms
