Memories
The moment our eyes met
I'll never forget
How you made my day
Just looking my way
Neither of us knew
That our friendship grew
To be nothing ordinary
But something crazy
Since then we've talked
Together we've walked
Lost in the reality
That you were growing on me
Time moved faster through the years
With laughter and falling tears
By each other's side we stood
As if friends since childhood
The memories bind us together
Even if we aren't friends forever
Now different thoughts cloud my view
Of how I feel towards you
Emotions are shifting
Thoughts are drifting
Slowly towards you
Out of the blue
People begin to whisper to me
Telling me what they really see
How we've grown inseparable
And without each other we're miserable
Then I look back at all that we've shared
Seeing how much you cared
The laughter we had
The good and the bad
Running through the rain
Comforting the pain
Suddenly it's all making sense
I'm clamming up and getting tense
I get weak when you say my name
I'm beginning to notice this isn't the same
Standstill moments are a thing of the past
Everything is moving so fast
We can't just be friends anymore
The world is persistent to see us as more
I'm chancing everything we know
One wrong move and it's out the window
I couldn't lose you
Now that I love you
I wish the world would go away
So everything can be okay
Life was good a few years ago
When we first said hello
But now I don't want to miss
Being in your arms when we kiss
And if that option is not open
You leave me crying and heartbroken
I'm begging you not to walk away
But remember what you had in me and stay
