Lets play Hide an’ Seek!

Cover your eyes and face the wall

Now count to twenty. Don’t Peek!

We all leave to find a hiding place

Everyone knows the perfect place

They hide in a cave

Or climb up a tree

They duck between bushed

Or underneath leafs

Some hide in places so clever

No friend can ever spot them.

Others will just run so far

That no one will follow.

Others will stand in front of your face

Shadows hide and keep them safe.

“Ready or not here I come.”

You turn and see

All your friends are gone.

Took twenty seconds and disappeared.

You’re out in the open, all alone

You search in the shadows

And up every tree

Listen for leaves rustle twigs snap

Listen for breaths that echoes after your own

Listen for miles and don’t find a thing.

You feel scared and almost scream

Then remember

This is Hide an’ Seek!

And when friends seem far

Or the sky grows dark

There is one thing to do

“Olly olly oxen free!”

You shout at the breeze.

And suddenly friends are falling from trees

And shot back from far places.

The shadows that spooked you,

Form familiar faces

Who smile at you.

They had always been there.

You where never alone.
