This story is based on real things that happened to me at school and it expresses my feeling for them.

Dear Diary,

Growing up sucks. It sucks big time. All those PBS shows about how fun growing up is is full of shit. High School is not fun. It’s Hell. Sometimes I think that God invented High School so that he can prepare us for Hell (for those of us that are going to it anyway).

Everyone in High School are just so full of themselves. Look at backstabbing. Why? What are they trying to get from it? If you talk about someone behind their back, chances are that the person won’t know. So what is the point? If you want someone to change, just tell it to their faces. If you tell your friends, what are they going to do? Absolutely nothing!

All you are going to get from telling your friends is distrust from your friends anyway. They will just think that if you talk about this person then maybe you are talking about them to behind their backs too.

Besides, whenever you talk about someone, there is always someone talking about you behind your backs. I know that this may sound like shit but it’s true. This girl, Lily is always talking about someone. But what she doesn’t realize is that everyone is always talking about her too. It’s sick actually. Everyone is always talking about someone else, even their friends.

There are these 2 friends who were suppose to be very close but as soon as one leaves, the other began talking about her and how much she hates her. I just sit there and wonder why you would be friends with someone that you hate and if you hate the person, then why would you be friend with her.

This other girl enjoys talking about this one girl because that girl talks about her. That’s even more full of shit because if you do that, then you are exactly like that person: a bitch. You talk about the person because you are angry at her for talking about you and yet, you decided to talk about them back. In my mind that makes no sense.

Instead of looking at the bad side of someone, why don’t people start looking at the good side? Everyone has a good side regardless of how evil that person may be. It’s just that sometime their good side may not be visible. In that case, you just have to look deeper. I really do believe this because I have spend a whole year looking at the good side of people and I have found goodness in everyone that I tried.

People just don’t see that good side because 1) they only want to see the bad side and 2) they are pretending to be ignorant of the person’s bad side. Negative energy is going to get you nowhere in life. Be positive. Be nice.

It might seem hard but that’s only because people are not used to it and it seems a lot easier to just do what everyone else does. But though it might be easier now, it won’t pay up in the end. In the end, you will pay for everything that you have every done wrong because every action has consequences. In the end, you will regret it.

So please, be the better person and always remember to do what your heart tells you to do.
