I got an inspiration for this the other night while thinking about what kind of hell the beginning of marching season is going to be. This is about a typical day of a marching contest, and it can be quite hectic, but I tried not to ramble on for 100 lines.:P The flow is nothing like I imagined, but at least it isn't depressingly morbid or forced cheerfulness like most of my poems. :) If you're in marching band, you know just how this is...

Up at five, back at two.
Not again, forgot my shoe.
Have to march in socks.
Teacher thinks this music rocks.

Usin' breath that ain't there.
Sure hope we do fair.
Don't look at the judge.
Gonna fall, oh fudge!

So hot, can't hardly see.
Someone unzip me!
Time for awards.
What we've worked towards.
Yeah, got a one!
Well, it's been fun.

Back of the bus singin' off-key.
Go pop in that DVD.
Go away; don't be a pest.
Just let me lay back and rest.
