I see such beautiful images

only to have them blur away,

bloody and flung back into nothing

when you sink, a fragment of me

tumbles down sunless plains

rollercoaster paths of days

cannot support a foot unbalanced

stakes too high, too steep

no one can ascend to grace

yet it's contagious when you leave

uncontained when truth is burned

some inner ill makes me numb

longing to change this point of view

simply turn it off and run

kept down my endless need

for so many I can't rescue
