We had these poetry readings at school, so I wrote this in five minutes. We had to pick a line to start with from a list the teacher had, and mine was, "You have a secret."

You have a secret,

Living in a world of

Pain and grief.

Retreating into fantasy,

Your own world,

Solitary and secret,

Lush and serene.

Where love is free,

Where you soar

On eagles' wings

Leaving you burdens

Behind.

Where forests,

Dappled with sunlight,

Can turn into

A rock shore,

Pounding with the

Angry roar of the waves,

Matching your feelings from

The outside world.

Where pain is gone,

Where despair is lost.

Free,

For a short while,

Before being plunged

Back into reality.
