Dagger Like Daddy
By: Lai

One more night in the gutter,
Tell me if you're feeling better,
And I'll be the first one at your door,
Just to make you cry some more.

I won't let you forget,
How you left her alone,
How she cried when you said,
What you said on the phone.

"I'm sorry sweetie,
But Daddy won't see you again.
Let me talk to mommy,
I'm in love with a friend."

I know that you're sorry,
But she had just turned three,
When you tore this family apart,
When you tore this hole in our hearts.

And I won't let us,
Go through this again,
And our hearts are guarded,
With this dagger like pen.

It pours my heart out,
With each word that it writes,
Writing about,
My life and it's fights.
