Rebirth From Ruin?

Exordium

Kiodi, I am Dorotea Pikaku, the Last Enagi. Or WAS the Last Enagi, until my grand-daughter Katherine became one. I am now her guardian spirit. I reside within the tza crystal of her Enagi staff. We came from a place called Pavonia, but now live on Earth. The original Enega was a group of Enagi who saved Pavonia from great evil. A new Enega on Earth, led by Katherine, but consisting of others who are not Enagi in any form, is now a source of hope. You may call an Enagi a witch, or sorceress, or even a warrior-priestess, although those terms, while having accuracy, don’t fully describe us. But enough about the path I took, the path my daughter-in-law might have taken, and the path my grand-daughter definitely took, for there is a tale to be told.

Among many of you, the worst date in history was once September 11th, 2001. But that changed in the year 2025, on August 23rd. What was supposed to be a meeting of countries turned into a monumental disaster, ensuring that 8-23 would forever live in infamy. The G-9 was a group of the nine most industrialized nations. The United States, The United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, and China. Ai’a’ivea also went but as observers. On that day, several terrorist groups hit China, and then the world.

The President of the United States and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom were killed. And then the world fell apart.

Countless people were killed, countless dreams and hopes were smashed. Entire cities were ruined, the Beiruts and the Sarajevos happening all over again.

Several groups would try to divide the Earth among themselves. Fredom was stamped out, communications lines were cut, martial law was imposed. The 1984 that Orwell predicted happened in a way, in 2025.

But even in the darkest moments, there is always light.

Can there be rebirth from ruin? Of course there can be, and there was.

These following chronicles will give you the story. A story of great devastation, a story of great sadness, but most of all, a story of hope.

Oh, there is so much to tell you. All that I will say now is that many great people persevered, despite the darkness. Despite having everything against them. Names such as the Enega Warriors, the Wrecking Crew, and the Second City Enforcers will live on forever. Under the Eyes of Ene, there can be rebirth from ruin, and there was, and there will be. A great story now unfolds, a story that shall be remembered for all time, the story that appears in the following chronicles.

Remember, my friends, future events will affect you in the future, if they haven’t already done so.

Author’s Notes: Ok, Exordium is just a Latin term for “beginning.” I’m avoiding the more usual “prologue” here, bare with me. Next chapter will be “The Day The World Became Unglued”, which will give part of the details of what happened in Shanghai, China, on 8-23.
