What is God?

God is what makes you feel. Not in the sense of something greater making you feel how you feel, making you feel what you feel, making you feel when you feel, but rather, just what you feel. An innocent little inside joke scrawled on the back of a picture by a love then unknown, a beautiful smile that’s able to warm you up even on the coldest of nights, a secret whispered into your ear that allows you to hear all the words life has to say; there are all God.

God is but a word used to describe what makes us alive – feeling. It is believed by some that without a sense of God, there is no sense in life, while it is believed by others that without a sense of feeling, there is no sense in life. Therefore, it can justly be said that a sense of feeling is a sense of God, and vice versa, explicitly meaning that God is your feelings and your feelings are God.

When you look deep into the eyes of a girl and know that she’s the one you can see yourself spending the rest of your life with happily, that is God. When you sit on your chair holding the trophy from your championship game and let the feeling of finally being a winner start to sink in, that is God. When you sit down in front of your computer and just begin to write and all that comes out is passionately perfect, that is God. God is simply everything that makes you feel alive.

However, God is not just the good, but also the bad – every act of anger, every scene of selfishness, every day of despair, they are also God. Every time you feel like you just want to crawl up into a ball and die, you are living with God; every time you just want to stand in the middle of an empty field and scream until your lungs collapse into themselves, you are living with God; every time you look at someone and want to have everything they have just because you know it’ll make things easier for you, you are living with God.

God is your desire, your despair, your delirium, your destruction, your death, your destiny, and your dream. Every breath you breathe is God, every step you walk is God, every secret you whisper is God. Every second you live is God.

Simply put, God is your everything.
