Tiffany Anderson; Sweetness

With a sigh, Tiffany Anderson closed her locker with a quiet click. She had just missed another prime opportunity to talk to Daniel McMatthews. She pulled a stray strand of her sandy brown bob behind her ear. She had just gotten it cut (in an attempt to attract the attention of a certain someone), and wasn’t quite used to the new length yet. Tiffany readjusted the Algebra II book and notebook in her arms and turned to her hyperactive friend, Jasmine.

“Sorry, Jas what were you sayin’?”

“Nothing important. Just that France crowned me their Queen, and I was askin’ you what title you wanted bestowed upon you by my royal highness.” She replied as she turned her nose up haughtily.

“Really?” Tiffany retorted with equal sarcasm.

“Of course. You know I don’t lie…that much.” Jasmine added with a devilish grin. She tugged on her low pony-tail, and continued on about how much of a pain her little brother was, and how agitated she was that he made her miss her shower that morning. Not that anyone could really tell. Her long blonde hair looked like it had just been washed, as it always did. She’s so lucky. She’s got “that” hair, “that” personality, “that” body …Tiffany grumbled on in her head about the differences between her and her best friend. And me? Flat hair, flat personality, flat- “HELLO?!” Once again, Jas brought Tiffany back into the world of the living.

“Huh?! Oh, sorry Jas.” She apologized as the two began down the hall.

“Geez! What’s with you today? Every two seconds you’re off ta lala land and…” She stopped talking and began to grin wide. She continued on in silence for a second, then turned to look slyly at Tiffany. “Aah,” Jas spoke with a wise tone, “I get it.”

She giggled a little and kept staring at Tiffany.

Tiff began to panic under her friend’s “wise” gaze. Jasmine had this ability to accurately read people, and was almost always right. Wait, she doesn’t think… Nah, she couldn’t know…could she? “W-what are you talking about?” She stuttered.

Jasmine just grinned even wider. “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe I should go ask young master McMatthews…”

“GAH!! I-I mean w-why? I d-don’t under…” She fought to not screech again.

This brought a torrent of laughter from Jas. “Oh, you poor thing! A senior? A JOCKY senior?!” She began guffawing again.

“H-he is NOT jocky!” Tiffany tried to defend him, but was completely ignored by Jasmine. Besides that, she couldn’t argue much. He was a jock. Skater-style brown hair, always with the pink polos and popped up collars. She thought about her usual attire. Dark t-shirts and loose fitting jeans that were worn by her older sister, Rebecca. She was now on her way to her Honors Geometry class, where she looked forward to talking to Adrian about last Saturday’s episodes of anime on Cartoon Network. She wondered if he had drawn anything since Friday. She pictured him, slouching over the edge of his desk, his ear length black hair all mussed up, grumbling about how he wanted to destroy the well-hated creator of Mondays. He’d probably be wearing his t-shirt from the Animazement convention he had made her go to, and a pair of raggedy black jeans, DC sneakers… Wait, since when did she pay so much attention to what Adrian wore?!

“Umm, Tiff, ya missed your class.” Jas made another intrusion on Tiffany’s thoughts. She found herself looking down the English hall. She’d been so engrossed in her own thoughts; she had missed the math hall.

“What? Oh, whoops.” She turned and looked at her comrade. She was wearing the skirt she had made out of old pairs of jeans. She wore a black vest over a tie-dyed halter-top, and hand made earrings with beads hanging on different lengths of wire. Jasmine was always wearing things she’d made herself. It was the one way to insure that her look was original, she had explained once. “Sorry.”

“God, you apologize too much. Now get to class, don’t want to keep you from your fans.” Jasmine grinned again and walked past her best friend towards the English hall. “See ya at lunch. Oh, and don’t worry about that McMatthews guy. If he says no when you finally say something,” she pretended to flex her left arm, “I’ll knock his lights out!”

“Uh, thanks, I think…” Jasmine had the weirdest ways of showing her emotions, though they were generally over the top, but Tiffany was glad to have a friend like her. Even if I do get a little jealous of her sometimes. Tiffany screamed when she heard the bell, and ran off to try and get to class before the teacher closed the door and settled things down. She still wanted to talk to Adrian about that last episode of Super Milk-Chan.
