Here I lie amongst the ashes

Covered in dry blood

The sun beat down on flesh dulled blades

As they called a crimson flood

Oh the glory, oh the honor

Of those killed in a war

I mourn for those who gave their life

With one resounding roar

I do not cry but smile yet

As friends are put to pyre

Ashes rise into the sky

Their souls a phoenix fire
