Buy a Memory

-‛-

-‛-

You feel not, you think not

‛Tis such a disgrace

That the mem'ries you gave up

Show not on your face.

--

It's rumored they're hidden

Down deep there, somewhere

But their time's not yet bidden,

Thus you've nothing to share.

--

So as one last attempt

At an actual life story

You face the man of contempt

Who sells his last memory.

--

Take it home in a box

And what a surprise

When you open it up

And it's spite in disguise.

--

So you wrap it back up

And put it high, somewhere dark

And avert heavy eyes

But it's still made its mark.

--

And you can't take it back

Because the salesman is gone

He is happy and free

And you're just his pawn.

--

He still has his soul

For he sold you his spite

And you, you have nothing

But the call of the night.

--

And of course you will answer it

-You've nothing fulfilling to do-

And that god-dam-ned lake

Wants just to play with you.

--

So what shall it be?

Come, use your voice!

You know you still see,

You must make a choice.

--

But either way is okay-

Get wet, stay dry

Either way you will pay

Either way you will die.
