Grandpa

By: Lauren

He's someone who I've known since birth,

A warm smile never forgotten

I look up to him

And love him

I remember he'd pull the fish off my hook

When they were too slimy to touch

And he would hold my hand

As we'd walk around the block

We'd pick up knickknacks from the street

And be told to toss them when we got home.

On the front porch is where we sit

We eat fruit and laugh.

Cherry seed spitting contests,

Listening to the ocean waves crash in a seashell,

Searching for stray golf balls in a forest,

And watching sitcoms at night

All fond memories

With the grandpa I love

Memories I hope to continue to create

As time passes by

I am so blessed to have him

My wonderful grandfather.
