Chapter 01
Green eyes open, as a body awakes. The body belongs to a boy, a boy with a tanned skin and long raven hair. The boy looks around him. Fog. It’s all he sees. Fog.
“Hello!” The boy yells.
His voice echo’s through the deep space where he is in.
“Hello!” The boy tries again.
Soft snickering is heard.
“Who are you!” the boy yells. “Where are you?”
The snickering turns into laughing, as footsteps are now heard. A boy around his age with deep crimson eyes, a strong build, pale skin and silver hair becomes visible.
“Who-Who are you!?” the boy gasps.
“Mitango, Mitango, Mitango.” The boy says tauntingly. “Don’t you recognize me?”
“Who are you! How do you know my name!” The boy, Mitango, yells panicked, taking a step backwards.
The other boy smirks. His hair starts to shorten and also turns black. His eyes turn some shade of blue, but mixed with crimson, so at some points they are purple.
“Kait!” Mitango yells surprised.
The boy chuckles. “Yes, Mitango. Kait.”
“But… You’re dead…” Mitango says confused.
Kait smirks. “Do I look dead to you?”
Mitango slowly stretches his hand to touch the other boy.
“Nah-ah-ah.” Kait says, stepping away so that Mitango can’t touch him.
“Kait… What’s wrong?” Mitango asks confused, taking a step towards Kait.
But every step Mitango takes towards Kait, Kait takes one away from Mitango.
“Kait, why are you moving away?” Mitango asks hurt. “We’re friends, remember? Friends?” he tries.
“Friends?” Kait asks bemused. “Friends!?” he suddenly spits. “You think we’re friends!?”
Mitango stops in his effort to touch Kait and looks at him hurt.
“Friends don’t leave each other when the other needs him the most!” Kait yells. “Friends don’t take away a person’s girlfriend!” he continues. “And friends don’t kill their friends! You are a traitor. You betrayed me, Mitango. I gave what I could give you because you were supposed to be my friend, but it seemed that you were not.”
Mitango falls on his knees, hands on his ears, not able to hear it. “Stop it!” he yells. “It’s not true! I didn’t kill you! I would never betray you! Leave me alone! No! I would never do this to you! No!”
The same cackling is heard again, reaching Mitango’s ears through the hands. Mitango stares up, only to see Kait vanish in the fog.
“You go and believe that, Mitango.” Kait says. “You go and believe that…”
Mitango shoots up in his bed. His eyes wide, expression like one of a deer caught in the headlights of a car.
“Mitango, are you alright?”
Mitango looks up, only to see his wife, Mista looking down at him, a concerned expression on her face. Her thick blonde hair reaches just past her shoulders, and her blue eyes decorate her fair face.
Mitango nods shaking, still stunned of the dream that plagues his mind.
“It’s that dream again, hm?” Mista states.
The expression on Mitango face is enough proof for her.
Mista stomps her foot on the floor and raises her arms and face at the sky.
“Why must you still torture us!” she yells. “Kait! Leave us alone!” Angry tears start to streak over her face.
Mitango lets out a sigh. He’s been having these nightmares ever since Kait mysteriously died. Everyone had suspected him, because he went off with Kait’s girlfriend, but he was found clear. There were even some accusations against Mista. They had thought that she had killed her boyfriend because he had dumped her, but that was definitely not what had happened.
“Forget it, Mista. He’s probably laughing down at us on top of that cloud of his…” Mitango mutters.
Mista scowls as she lowers her arms. “You mean laughing up from the fires he’s burning in!” she yells.
Mitango rises, an angry expression on his face. “Kait did not go to hell.” He hisses.
“He did.” Mista hisses back.
“HE DID NOT!” Mitango roars, pushing Mista with incredible force.
It just so happened that Mista was in front of a window… And they were living on the 26th floor of a flat. Mista is pushed through the window.
“MITANGO!” she yells.
“MISTA!” Mitango tries to grab Mista, but he is too late, and Mista falls down the flat.
‘This is it.’ Mista thinks scared. ‘Mitango… Kait… I’m so sorry…’
She closes her eyes and waits for the impact, but it doesn’t come. Instead, she is caught by a pair of strong arms. Mista opens her eyes and is staring in the crimson eyes of her saviour.
“You okay?”
The voice is deep and one of a man. Mista smiles and nods, still shaking a little.
All around them people start to talk.
“Did you see that? That man came out of nowhere!”
“No human could have caught some one that fell from up there! The impact would have crushed him!”
“But maybe he’s not human!”
Mista ignores the people, as the stranger helps her stand and lets go of her.
“Mista!”
Mista looks up and sees Mitango push his way through the crowd.
“Mitango!” Mista runs towards Mitango who captures her in his arms.
“Oh Mista, I am so sorry.” He whispers.
“Don’t be. It was an accident; I should never have said it.” Mista whispers back, burying her face in his chest.
“How did you survive? Who helped you?” Mitango asks, pushing Mista away slightly, just so that he can look her in the eye.
“He did.” Mista turned to where the crimson eyed stranger stood, but all she stared at was an empty space.
The people started to talk again.
“Where is he?”
“He was here just a few seconds ago!”
“Who is he?”
“Is he a ghost?”
Mitango frowns. He doesn’t really like what he os hearing here. First the nightmare, then the argument, and then a person that suddenly disappears?
‘What’s going on here?’

I watch you now, you are so confused. I lower the cap that protects me from the sun. Because even if I can stand the rays of the sun, it weakens me greatly. A few of my silver bangs fall in my crimson eyes. I saved her, yes. I saved the person that cheated on me with my best friend, for what I don’t know, but everything happens for a reason, or so He had told me.
I am here for a reason, you are here for a reason, and she cheated on me for a reason… I walk away, my long black coat flowing behind me. I do not know what we vampires have with black, we might as well be dressed in grey or midnight blue, but we use black.
Black as our eyes, black as our burned heart. We are all living among you, and we see this place for what it really is. The city is so cold and grey and beat, not warm, colourful and alive as you all think. This is where I suffocate; I can not seem to breathe.
Hours are passing with me just walking in the comforting darkness of the shadows. How will I ever know my reason for being here?
Rats run past my feet as I enter an alley, drunken people stare at me and the local whores wink at me. Both make me sick. I can not find my release in one of them, I know. But then it occurs to me.
You.
You, who once were my friend, you are perfect. I will summon you, and I will take you, just like I had taken so many before you. Then I will kill you and dump you with the rest. By the time you are found, your body will not be recognised ever again…
