And the Rain Still Falls

Far and wide across the land
Evil things ruin the grand
But there is hope in the rain
The Angel's tears of grief and pain

Civilian blood is shed in civil war,
Deadly weapons kept in secret store
Others sold to bloodthirsty nations,
While African orphans eat very small rations

And the Angel's cry at the evil on Earth
and the rain still falls
and the rain still falls

A small little girl is taken away
Becuase her parents got in a fray
Only to grow bitter in thinking
All her fault she sits tears blinking

I wonder and wander the earth
Is there anything left of mirth?
Is there hope in the rain?
The Angel’s tears of grief and pain

While our world is ripped apart
While the human race has lost the peace of art
While heaven grows heavy with tears of pain
While I stand here in the rain

You would cry too if only you would see
That if everyone opened their eyes and committed to be
Then this world at last could be free
From war and terror and evil that breeds

And the Angel’s cry at the evil on Earth
and the rain still falls
and the rain still falls

The silence from lips of those who claim
Are the same lips that also lay in blame
For who sees a crime and does not say
Is also made from rock hard clay

The Angel’s cry in the midnight skies
While I live in my country of lies
And the Angel’s tears of grief and pain
Leave me crying I the rain.
