Wish

-'-

-'-

Pretty star, we wish on you

But don't you have a wish or two?

-

Lonely star, you poor dear thing

Twinkling but you cannot sing

-

You are not free, your heart is caged

This wish business is simply staged

-

You want to belong to yourself

So put your pride up on a shelf

-

And see no whims of silly folk

That yell and whine and prod and poke

-

Let them make themselves content

And let your magic be not spent

-

But on you and those you love

So twinkle, twinkle, up above.
