On the banks of the river
Where we used to go,
I feel your arms around me,
You’re hands were moving slow.

I feel your lips against mine,
Though I struggle to break free,
I never realized until just now
That you’re still owning me.

It’s been so many months,
Since we exchanged our last goodbyes,
And I wonder if you’re just like me,
And still you need to cry.

That month is lost forever,
At the bottom of the creek,
Frozen over many times,
By the winter, cold and bleak.

You said that you would love me,
Until the world would end,
So tell me this, then why didn’t we,
Like planned be still best friends?
