I'll cling tenaciously to this love
I've abandoned 100,000 times before
because I'd rather not feel empty
and loneliness does that to you.
I'm fine if it's not raining;
but when that breeze picks up
and the sky turns a mournful gray,
my mind begins to wander.
Each raindrop is a memory,
a wish, a hope, a dream,
a perfect world, a wasted moment,
someone I've lost, a person I have yet to find,
good days, bad days, and everything in between.
It's music and it's nothing,
raw emotion with molecular construction -
it's just raindrops. They fall from the sky
as people fall in and out of love.
What's the point of all of this?
There isn't one. But,
plants need water and humans need love
and we're all just waiting
for the heavens to answer our cries.
