Stars break free from the ancient black abyss to dance in the deep moonlit forest. Pinpoints of light and nightly renewed life dart out and about between broad tree trunks and tiny sprouting twigs as serene indigo clouds cover the moon for but a moment, setting the minute illuminations ablaze like the wary eyes of a cosmological predator in the evening shadows. The phantasmagoric scene changes as the lunar glow is set free once again and moonlight pours between the slumbering branches. Small creatures of the night creep forth from the cozy, deep shadows for a glance as the small lights dance in and out of the streams of moonlight. The music of the night waltzes in, making its entrance on a thin creeping layer of cool white fog. Taking its natural place in the fairytale setting, the mist and its melody linger to the side of the magical dance floor, awaiting their turn. Soon it happens. Chaos breaks to form and all stars dip into the mist, diving and then soaring back towards the familiar moon, smiling down at her children. The mist whispers skyward gleefully, joyful to become part of the nightly ballet, and the music bursts forth, spilling from every knot in every tree, trickling from the ends of each leaf. Again the dance begins; trails of daylight show the paths of the dancers in the stillness as the moon hides her face once more. When again she bears her beams into the enchanted scene, she has already begun her descent. Small creatures make their way home as the dance continues. About trees and rocks and leaves they dart, intricately in never-ending spirals and dives. Whispering spidery mists crawl to, creating their webs about the earth. Calling to the dancers, the time has come. Mother moon beckons as crimson begins to appear. Skyward, they return, reluctantly, sadly, knowing they must wait until the next eve before they may dance again. Moon calls her children to and sets them to sleep as goldenrod shows; dimming their radiance until shine and dance they do again.
