The Four Elements

Earth

Everything comes from this

And though we do not show respect

Everything returns to this

And though we know, we do not suspect

Water

Under it we cannot breathe

Yet we drink it to live

It's a weapon we cannot sheathe

But life to us it gives

Air

Without it we will perish

Yet we travel to where there's none

Only once will we cherish

When it leaves us we are done

Fire

Our skin it burns

Yet we use it to keep us warm

With passion it turns

And none can capture its true form

Everything is filled with opposites

It makes our world go round

It makes everything fit

Yet stands out among the crowd.
