The three of us were in the car. I sat in the back, while Robin sat driving, and her younger sister Melanie was in the passenger seat. Leaving the cabin, I took one last look at the scenery from the top of the hill. The hills went on for miles and covered up any view of the city. They gentely rolled on as if nothing was behind them, like it was the end of the world.

We went down the dirt road and the dust had come up behind us. Melanie rolled down her window and let her arm out, having it straight against the wind. Playfully she laughed and was more than content. Robin, while foccused on driving, also seemed to be happy with the situation.

We had quite a long drive ahead of us. So far away there was nothing to worry about. We were all fed, had a full tank, and time to spare. Nothing much was spoken expect Melanie's ramblings about her arm and the wind. We were all partially seccluded to ourselves. We were thinking about nothing except the hills and the road and the trees.

I couldn't help but falling asleep. There were moments were I'd open my eyes and catch a glimpse of the sun or the side of the road. I dreamt things that were pleasent and calm, but not so perfect when I woke up I wished I hadn't.

We were able to let go for that time. After the drive, I realized that I wouldn't have minded staying there for a bit of enternity. Nothing mattered, nothing else existed except the car and the mile around it.
