I’m trapped inside a forest,

So dark that I am blind,

I’m trapped inside a forest,

Locked within my mind.

There are no paths to follow,

So I cannot find my way,

I’ve been here for awhile,

Though how long I could not say.

I need someone to help me,

A friend to guide me home,

I need someone to save me,

I cannot stay alone.

But no one is coming,

This is all I know,

For only I can help myself—

And I don’t want to go.
