I’ll spit the same words right back at you
see them reflected hollow in your eyes
You told me my steps were numbered
before the moment when I would realize

You played the helpless victim
trapped against your own weak will
Guilt trips and long nights brought me here
to know you were a predator, waiting quiet and still

Waiting for your chance to rule me
to bury my heart beneath your turning heel
I ran after you because it’s the only thing I’ve been told to do
you wrote the book on how I would feel

You revel in your supposed happiness
and I just want to scream in the silence, scream
Yet you sit there smiling at everyone but me
you rejoiced when you figured out what your revenge could be
