The Chase: Forbidden Triangle

Author’s Note: This is my first time writing a full out vampire fiction. I have written one before, but that was a short fiction… and submitted into a writing contest for my school, so it was pretty… “clean.” I do hope you enjoy this though… at first it was all just a bunch of nonsense I was writing, because I didn’t have any idea at all what this story would be about. I hope to keep writing more vampire fiction in the future . And it’s a mix of all vampire knowledge I know… not all Buffy like...okay, maybe some. DON’T WORRY.

Chapter 1: Bittersweet Love

He saw her feeding on that naïve teenager. Watched her enjoy the taste of young, fresh blood.

“ You can’t run from me, pet,” he growled, crouching on the rooftop of the high school. “ You belong to me…”

That’s when she threw her victim to the ground, and stared up at him with those big emerald eyes. A drop of the red liquid slowly slid down her chin, giving him the urge to jump down and kiss her… if he didn’t want to kill her.

“ Found you,” he said, venom in his voice, as he jumped down from the roof to confront her.

“ It’s your turn to hide,” she smirked, her cherry tongue escaping her delectable mouth to lick up excess liquid. “ I’ll count to a hundred. One, two, three…”

“ I have to admit, as much as I’d love to put your pretty little self into the sun, that was a clever plan you had,” he ran his hands through his dirty blond hair.

“ You really don’t know me that well, do you, Gabriel?”

“ I created you,”

“ I’m not fucking Frankenstein, Gabe. You may have sired me,” she whispered in his ear, her tongue slowly licking the side of his face. “ But you don’t own me,”

“ You belong to me,” his hands balled into his fists at his sides.

“ Why can’t you get it through your head? I don’t belong to anyone… I’m my own vampire. MY OWN,” she spat out. “ It was very fun, Gabriel, but it couldn’t last forever.”

She came up to him, sliding her hands up to his waist and taking his lips into a rough kiss. “ Catch you later, babe,” she smiled wickedly, baring her fangs. “ Don’t try and find me again…”

He watched her trot away, her hands tossing her long dark brown hair. She knew he would try and find her again, and he also knew that she secretly liked the chase.

They were meant to be together… forever.

--------------------------------

It was another slow night for Duncan, as he lit a cigarette behind the dumpster in the alley of the nightclub, Ice. There had been one vampire that came out of the club with a bimbo, and he had obviously been freshly sired. As soon as the creature started groping her and getting a little obsessed with her neck, he went in for the kill.

Slowly creeping up behind the vampire, Duncan grabbed him by the neck and shoved him onto the brick wall. He turned to the girl, as the vampire bared its fangs and hissed, and calmly said, “ Run.”

The girl didn’t even take time to ask questions or scream, she turned and her heels click clacked on the ground as she took off.

“ Son of a bitch!” the creature shouted, as he attempted to push Duncan off of his back, no use. “ I’ll fucking kill you!”

“ We’ll see about that,” he turned the pathetic thing around roughly, and thought a stake would do the trick.

He rammed the stake into the vampire’s heart, and it howled before turning into dust.

That was all child’s play… he wanted some more action. He wanted to be in the cemetery, but Lana and Tobias insisted he take a break and go hunt somewhere simple. He always took the harder places, the ones filled with more danger. Ever since what happened with Norah…

He threw his cigarette to the ground, stomping it out, feeling bitterness overtake him. If it weren’t for Declan convincing him to fight against the vampires he would be dead. Suicide wasn’t the answer, killing the vampires was more of revenge than anything else. Norah would’ve wanted it that way too.

He heard a crunching sound behind him, and he instinctively spun around, clenching his fists to prepare for battle if necessary.

There stood a short, skinny woman, wearing a long black leather overcoat. She wore a pair of worn out boot cut jeans, with a very tight black tank top. Her boots were pointy enough to gouge his eyes out. Her long dark brown hair framed her pale mocha coloured face, and those entrancing emerald almond shaped eyes gave a nice bright look to her appearance.

She had to be a vampire.

“ Mind if I bum a smoke?” she asked innocently. “ I really need one…”

Without a word, he took a stick out, and handed it to her, holding a lighter to the cigarette.

“ Thanks,” she muffled out as she held the cigarette between her teeth… and some fangs.

As soon as he put the lighter back, he clenched his fist, preparing to take her by surprise. He took the first swing, but to his surprise, she ducked it and gave him a round kick to the stomach, which he barely avoided.

“ Nice try,” she smirked and came toward him grabbing him by the collar.

“ Likewise,” he said, removing her strong grip from his jacket. Finally, some action, he thought.

“ Give me your best shot.”

He faked a round kick to her side, and came back at her with a reverse sidekick to the stomach. She staggered back again, and smiled, “ Not too bad, I have to say.”

Then she tackled him to the ground, with inhuman strength, and growled at him. She had him pinned down; holding his arms to his side, and her tiny, but strong body had his legs disabled.

“ But don’t try me,” she whispered in his ear, as he struggled to get her off of him. She ran a nail along his cheek, and looked him dead in the eye. “ I am not one to toy with…”

“ Get off of me,” he ordered. “ I will—“

“ I’ve seen you before… you’re a good fighter, but unfortunately, you’re going to have to keep practicing with the little ones before you can even try and take me on again…” her skin was cold against his cheek, but he could feel her lingering at his neck. “ You’re a tasty morsel… it’s too bad I’ve already fed, but maybe just a taste…”

He finally pushed her off and sprung to his feet, getting his stake at the ready. She laughed as she rolled and got back on her feet.

“ Practice first, or else you’ll miss,” she stared at the stake in amusement.

The backdoor of the club opened, as a lanky man came out with garbage. He eyed Duncan suspiciously, and only him. That’s when Duncan knew it; the bitch was gone.

As soon as the man went back inside, he turned around and cursed.

He was going to get her. He was definitely going to take her on again. Next time, he won’t lose.
