....::::: My Little Prince :::::....
Whitney Benton opened his eyes, showing the dark brown color of them. He faced his own reflection in the mirror at the other side of the room. He saw himself sitting in the dark, the only light upon him that of the moon that shone through the window behind him. His dirty blond hair fell in front of his eyes as he sat on the brown crate with his head down a little. The green bandana he wore didn’t help much.
He slowly lifted his head before he pushed out his bangs out of his face, heaving a sigh at the same time. His eyes searched the wall on his left and stopped at a clock. The clock told him it was two in the morning. He should get some sleep, he supposed. Only problem was, he wasn’t sleepy at all though if he told anyone they would most likely gape at him. All of them had been extremely tired and sleepy and they hadn’t done halve of what he had done. But he was physically very strong though he did not look like he was. He was rather skinny, mostly his arms. That however did not mean he had no condition or no strength in those arms. He most likely had a better condition then all of them together which was to blame on one specific person he’d been running after the whole day and every other day before and most likely every day still to come.
His eyes turned to a corner nearest of him, of the room he was residing in. In the corner stood a bed and on that bed was a sleeping form. A sleeping form also known as Ryu Khumbu, his best friend. From where Whitney was sitting he could still see him drool. Of course maybe that was because he had witnessed the drooling many times before and he just knew it was there instead of actually seeing it.
Many people were always surprised to hear that he and Ryu were friends, let alone best friends. He personally wouldn’t be surprised but he supposed it was because they both were so different. Where Ryu was loud, energetic and quit atheletic, Whitney was silent, musical and would rather read a book then do something sporty. Plus he was defined as weird by many others in their town, not that Whitney cared about this. Ryu was quit emotional in certain things. He could express fear, anger, excitement, happiness and sadness rather well where as Whitney had more trouble with these things. He kept things a bit more bottled up. But he shoved that upon the fact that they came from different backgrounds. Where Whitney came from a wealthy stiff family that hardly ever saw each other, Ryu came from the middle class and had a loving family.
But there weren’t only differences. They were similar in certain things. They both didn’t really have a temper. It was rather hard to make both of them angry. Ryu only got angry when someone hurt or insulted the people close to him. Whitney was slightly similar to that. Ryu had only once seen him angry and that was when some guy from school had punched Ryu in the face. That had triggered something in Whitney and Ryu had had the hardest time to calm him down.
Right now he was staying over at Ryu’s house where he spend most of his days. They currently had a two week break from school and they were halfway in the second week. The first week they had spent at Whitney’s house. They had made a deal at the beginning of the vacation. The first week they would stay at Whitney’s and they’d do anything that Whitney wanted to do. To be honest that was the most relaxing week he had ever had since he had met the boy though most of the things Whitney wanted to do never happened. But still it had been quit relaxing though not so much for the other occupants of his house. He remembered once when one morning Ryu had been dancing on the table with his boxers on and Whitney’s mothers high heels. His mother had walked in and fainted.
The second week was all Ryu’s and Whitney regretted since the first minute that he woke up Monday morning. That whole day they had spend doing sports that had to do with water. Sailing, swimming, diving etc. He’d been broken at the end of the day and he quickly had remembered that day why again he did not like water unless he was taking a shower. Especially not when it’s cold water.
Tuesday had been cartoon day. He could deal with cartoons or so he thought. He had thought they would watch different sort of cartoons. But no, Ryu only watched Tom and Jerry that day. It had been a marathon on Cartoon Network. He did not like Tom and Jerry (he found it an extremely pointless cartoon) and had been twitching at the end of the day (and he did not twitch very quickly). He even had a nightmare about them where he had been Jerry and Tom was following him and he hadn’t been as brilliant as Jerry as to how to escape the cat. Ryu had ended up waking him and at first had been gaping at him before shedding tears of laughter. Whitney had not appreciated that very much.
Wednesday had been today or yesterday since it was past midnight. Ryu had asked him to wake him up at seven. Whitney had wondered about that since Ryu usually did not get up before ten in the morning if he had any say in it. But he hadn’t asked any questions and had done as he had been asked to do which had earned him a few painful kicks in the stomach. Ryu was not a morning person. His hand slowly slid to his stomach and pressed on it softly. It still hurt a bit. He lifted his white sleeveless shirt and saw in the reflection that a bruise had formed there. A small smile tugged at his lips. One bruise in three days full with Ryu. That had to be a record.
After that they had breakfast and Ryu had dragged him to a skate park . Ryu had given him a skateboard and had put him on that but Whitney never really had the intention to skateboard. He would’ve been content watching Ryu do his tricks. But no, Ryu had to give him a push. Let’s just say that the ending of that was a very very very sorry Ryu and a painfull ass for Whitney. And Ryu didn’t help by telling him that they would cycle the entire afternoon. Whitney had been in pain though he made sure he didn’t show Ryu that. At night Ryu’s family had taken them to a restaurant and after that to a club. Ryu had danced the entire night and had dragged Whitney as per usual with him. Whitney’s feet hurt right now too but that didn’t bother him as much as his ass.
He wasn’t used to so much physical exercise and his muscles were sore because of that. Why he had even agreed to the suggestion to begin with was certainly beyond him at that moment. He should’ve known what kind of things he would be getting himself in to but for some reason he had a hard time saying to the boy that was only one centimeter taller then him. It had always been like that, since they day that they had met though Ryu hadn’t been in a to good of a mood and been extremely bitchy to Whitney that day when the blond had tried to approach him. Like he had PMS or something along those lines. It hadn’t exactly stopped him though from continuing to try and be friendly with him which in turn seemed to have jerked Ryu out of his bitchiness after a while. Ever since then Whitney had never seen Ryu bitchy whenever he was around.
A murmur coming from the corner pulled him out of his thoughts and he focused back on the sight in front of him. Ryu was currently hugging his pillow to his chest, having kicked off the covers by now, and laying on his back. Just then he turned on his side before pulling up his knees high near his stomach. A ghostly smile appeared on Whitney’s lips as he watched him a little longer.
A few minutes more passed of Whitney looking at Ryu sleeping before he finally stood up. He turned to the window and pulled the curtains shut before he walked to the beds or more specifically to Ryu’s bed. He sat down on the edge of the bed and looked down on the sleeping figure of Ryu. Gently he brushed some of the boy’s dark brown bangs out of his face.
Ryu kept on sleeping and murmuring though, every now and again muttering words or sentences that Whitney could understand. “No mommy, don’t take away my cheese.” “Mine all mine.” “It’s a bird” and he whimpered after saying that which made Whitney let out a small chuckle. It was common knowledge that Ryu feared birds. Yes he was such a brave boy.
Shaking his head a little then, he grabbed a paper tissue and whipped Ryu’s mouth clean of drool. He then dumped the tissue on the ground, that was remarkably soft by the way. His fingers lingered on the Ryu’s cheek, a little longer then he had originally planned and he let his head drop down ‘till he was so close he could feel the breathing of Ryu on his skin. His head dropped even lower and before he even knew it himself, he pushed his own lips against the soft ones of the sleeper.
Blinking rapidly, Whitney pulled away. He wasn’t sure what had just happened just now and he looked with open eyes at Ryu who stirred in his sleep a little. For a moment Whitney was scared that Ryu would wake up but then relaxed when Ryu only turned on his other side but not before muttering some words in his sleep again. Words that caught Whitney by surprise.
“Love you too.”
Again, Whitney blinked. He wasn’t sure what to think of that, if it even was directed into his direction or that it was a response to someone completely different in his dreams. He swallowed a few times, shifting uncertain glances at Ryu for a second before composing himself and actually doing what he had wanted to do to begin with. He bowed over and gave a small kiss on Ryu’s cheek. A small smile lid up upon his lips as he spoke out his usual last words to Ryu that Ryu never heard. “Good night, my little prince.”
