Name: Project Orion
Rating: M
Reason for rating: Not-quite-descriptive nudity, descriptive nudity, violence, attempted and successful rapes, lemons, and not-entirely-dirty group bathing. A little blood, injury, etc. The fact that the next lowest rating is much too low.

CHAPTER ONE
My name is Rai Aquarius. I used to live halfway across the world from where I am now, which is the kinda small country of Ethria. Through some accident, I wound up staying at a special High School.
The school’s a private one; it takes only very high class and rather smart people. I’m lucky enough to fall into those categories.
I was 14 when this all began, just like the others.
What follows is my story. The highs, the lows, the times I got laid, and the times I got hurt. I hope it teaches you something; it will mean what I went through really had meaning… The trials and suffering actually meant something. There were good times, too, though, that I wouldn’t trade for the world. Magic, technology, it’s all here.
My world is a strange place. A select few can use magic. Nobody understands how it works, but it does. I didn’t know it at the time, but it’s because of the magic that it all happened.
So read on…
Rai Aquarius
“So.” I said, staring up at the school. “This is where I’ll be studying from now on.” I shrugged and began walking forward. The place was fantastic. Fountains, gardens, statues, it was all there. Whoever built this place was obviously insanely rich. Arranged around the school were a number of dormitories. I knew that mine was the Ryu Dorm, but had absolutely no idea where exactly it was. So, naturally enough, I went towards the school intending to get myself a map. People were talking as they mingled about; classes were over for the day.
“These classes are so easy. I wish they’d give us some harder stuff to do!”
“Did you see how Mr. Norga was watching the girls in gym today? I tell ya, man, that guy is such a pervert!”
“Well, so are you.”
“I hate math! Those stupid Proof things they make us do are nothing but a pain. They’re easy enough, but…”
“Why couldn’t we just do everything over the internet?”
I laughed. Doing work over the internet was the best idea I’d heard all day. Considering the fact that everybody here was a genius, and I’d been listening closely, that was no small feat. If we did it all on the internet, school would be easier then it already was! And as everybody knew, easier was always better. Well… Usually, anyways. Some things need to be hard, like gym class. The harder you work the more you get out of it. Gym’s the only place you really had to work, after all. No amount of brainpower can make you strong physically.
After a few minutes of walking, I finally came across the office. It looked like something from a Hollywood movie involving some incredibly rich company. This room alone must have cost at least half a million dollars, assuming everything was real. Considering the costs to go to this school, everything probably was real. They could afford it, after all.
“Name and purpose of visit?” a secretary asked.
“Rai Aquarius. I’m here to pick up a map and anything else I need. I’m new.” I replied. The secretary typed something into a top-of-the-line computer, nodded at the screen, and gave me two things. One was a map of the entire school, grounds and all seven floors, four of which were apparently underground. That sounded cool enough. There was even a bomb shelter. From the design of the school, it could probably survive anything except a nuclear explosion. Not without damage, of course, but it wouldn’t collapse. And nobody was crazy enough to use a nuke on one building, no matter how important. A city, maybe. But not just one building. Smaller missiles were much more cost-effective. The other paper was my schedule. “Thanks.” I said, heading out. More conversations reached my ears.
“Oh, John is so cute!”
“That chick in Common, the super-genius, she fixed my laptop in about ten seconds, dude! Even professionals hadn’t had a clue what was even wrong with it!”
“Beer… Must… have… beer…”
I smiled, and headed out to my dormitory. It was located opposite the main gates. It wasn’t until I was in front of it that I looked up, though. And I stared, flabbergasted. The place was like nothing I had ever seen. The main part of the school was grand, and the other dormitories were cool, but this place was just plain awesome. Circling the entire house was a golden oriental dragon, on top of which was a circular walkway that wound up around the building. Gold framing marked the outline of the main door. It was grand. It was incredible. It was absurd. Cost-wise, that is.
“…Wow.” I said. I double-checked the map, confirmed I was at the right place, and walked in. I would have knocked, of course, but if I was technically already living here, then it was my home and I didn’t need to. It was a pretty quiet place, until I listened. I heard the sounds of somebody working out from another room, so I headed there. I didn’t know where my room was, the map didn’t have labels for individual students, and I definitely didn’t want to intrude on anybody else’s room.
“Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah!” a girl said. A moment after each ‘Hah!’ I heard the sounds of what sounded like a punching bag being punched. Rounding the corner, I looked into Ryu Dorm’s exercise room and found a girl working out. She had white hair that reached down to her waist, golden eyes, and quite a body. She was wearing only exercise clothes. From what I saw, which wasn’t all that much, no underwear. After several minutes, she finally noticed me. Smiling, she sat down on a bench and took a long drink from a bottle. “What can I do for you?” the girl asked.
“Um… I’m new here, and I know this is my dorm. I was wondering if you knew which room I’m supposed to stay in.” I said, praying that I didn’t sound like a complete buffoon.
“Oh, you’re Rai?” the girl asked, getting up. “Follow me.” She led me out of the exercise room and towards some stairs. “Aril told all of us that you were coming, but she didn’t know when. My name’s Shri Haramin, resident martial artist.” She smiled. Her name was pronounced a bit strange. It was ‘Ss-REE’. Very interesting. “You’re the only boy in this dorm, and you should be thankful for that.”
“Why?” I asked curiously.
“Most of the boys here are complete scumbags. They may be smart, everybody here is, but they’re also jerks a lot of the time. You don’t seem so bad; I’d really hate to have to hurt you if you started acting like the rest of the boys.” Shri said, her tone light. I suddenly got very nervous.
“Don’t worry, I don’t plan on acting like a jerk.” I said. Shri grinned and opened a door. By now we had gone up the stairs and into a sort of square-ish living room.
“This room’s yours. As you can see, your stuff has already been brought up.” Shri explained. “Room layouts are all the same. Closet’s on the left. Only door on the left, for that matter, hard to miss. The bathrooms are downstairs. The area that we’re still standing in is our living room. We do everything here. Eat, play games, study, sleep…”
“Sleep?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. Shri nodded.
“Once in a while.” She explained. “Our rooms totally rule, but this area is just so different from our rooms that it’s a fun change. Want me to show you why?” she asked.
“Um, sure.” I said. Shri grinned and led me into her room. All I could do was stare. The place was styled after a traditional martial arts dojo training room. Even the bed was in that particular style, laid out on the floor with no framing at all.
“Like I said, different.” Shri explained. I nodded and went back into the living room after she did. “The rooms don’t have locks, but I wouldn’t go into anybody else’s room if I were you. Aril’s very strict about that sort of thing, and she’s head of the Dorm.”
“Gotcha.” I said, nodding. “Stay out of your rooms unless invited in.”
“Bingo.” Shri said, smiling. “I would show you the rest of the place, but I want to get back to training and you have a map. See ya later!” she said, heading off. I nodded, went back to my room, and took a serious look around. It, too, was phenomenally different from the living room. This place looked like it had been plucked out of a modern King’s private quarters. The carpet was very thick and comfortable, the bed was a four-poster, and there was a flat-screen TV covering an entire wall. The main color of the room was a deep, rich red. Upon closer inspection, I noted that a sign had been taped to a pair of wireless acoustic headphones that were sitting on a charging stand.
Use these if you want to watch TV, the rest of us don’t need to hear whatever you’re watching. –Management
“Interesting.” I said. I put them onto a conveniently located table, next to the remote, and headed into the closet. All my clothes had been hung up inside of it, along with a complete selection of other clothes. I quickly changed into some casual black ones, and headed back into my main room. A moment later, there was a loud crash from below. So, naturally, I hurried downstairs. After about ten seconds of frantically looking around, I found that Shri had somehow gotten stuck under a pile of heavy boxes. “Are you okay?”
“I-I’m fine!” the girl said. “This stuff just fell over. Are you strong enough to get it off of me?”
“I hope so.” I replied grimly. I pushed one of the boxes, and slowly managed to get it off the pile. One by one, I managed to move them away, until Shri was freed enough to help. After that, it wasn’t hard at all.
“Thanks…” Shri said, panting. Both of us had broken a sweat after the ten minutes or so it had taken to get her free. The girl’s clothes were a bit ruffled, and a more perverted guy would probably have been openly staring. “Don’t think I have much worse then a bruise or two. But I’m still glad you were here.”
“So am I.” I replied. My heart skipped a beat when she smiled at me. Dang, she was cute! I hadn’t noticed before, since I wasn’t paying attention.
“SHRI!!” a voice yelled.
“Coming!” Shri replied, grinning. “That’s Aril calling. You wanna meet her?”
“Definitely.” I replied, grinning back. We headed into the large downstairs entryway, Shri moving a tad unsteadily. A girl with yellow hair was looking around the kitchen. She had black bangs; that made for quite an interesting look. The kitchen was rather dirty.
“This place is a mess! What have all of you been doing all day!?” the girl asked.
“Well, I was training, as usual.” Shri replied. “I don’t know what the others do, though Crystal’s probably hacking the government again or something.” The new girl turned to look at Shri, but quickly noticed me instead.
“Oh, yes. Rai. I thought you’d be coming soon.” the girl said. She stepped out of the kitchen and reached out a hand. I reached out my own, and we shook. “I’m the head of Ryu Dorm. My name is Aril Yelani.”
“Yelani?” I asked, surprised. “The same as the Headmistress’?”
“Yes. She’s my mother. I’m surprised, though, most people don’t know her name this soon after arriving.” Aril said, shrugging. “Not bad. But since you’re officially part of this Dorm, you get to do your share of the work. Help Shri clean up the kitchen.” Aril ordered.
“Oh, come on! It’s his first day, he hasn’t even settled in yet!” Shri protested. “You’re already making him work!?”
“It’s okay, it doesn’t really matter to me.” I said quickly. “I cleaned stuff all the time back home. No biggie.”
“See?” Aril said smugly. She left a moment later, no doubt to inspect the rest of the house or something like that. Shri and I quickly got to work cleaning up the kitchen. She cleaned the stove and such, while I did the dishes. It only took about ten minutes, not bad at all.
“So, what do you like eating?” Shri asked. “I’m cook for the Dorm too.”
“Is there anything you aren’t? Smart, athletic, genius cook…” I said, trailing off. Shri laughed. Apparently, she didn’t realize I was serious.
“Oh, I’m not a lot of things.” The girl said. “I can’t hack any computer in seconds flat like Crystal, or mediate any problem like Artemis does. Nor do I make friends half as easily as Mia does, or even run the dorm.” She laughed again. “I just do a lot of the physical stuff.”
“I see…” I muttered, not entirely convinced. Shri laughed again yet. Or perhaps she simply hadn’t stopped.
“So, your favorite food is…” she said, waiting for me to finish.
“Pizza.” I replied.
“Okay, pizza it is!” Shri said cheerfully. “Whaddaya want on it? You gotta have cheese and sauce, of course. Pepperoni, sausage, red peppers, pineapple…”
“Five-Cheese.” I replied. Shri nodded.
“Got it. Two Extra Large Five-Cheese pizza’s for dinner!” the girl said enthusiastically. I raised an eyebrow, and it took about five seconds for Shri to understand. “You haven’t seen the others eat. I should probably make three pizzas…” the girl said, trailing off. “Okay, go relax in your room. And stay there.” The girl said firmly, fingering a carving knife. I quickly nodded and hurried upstairs and into my room.
“What was that all about?” I wondered. “Stay here in my room? Why?” I sighed. “Oh, bugger.” Muttering, I put the wireless headphones on, turned the TV on, and soon found a good cartoon show to watch. Lucky me, it was the first episode of a series, so I wasn’t really missing anything.

Yo! Numinor29 here! First of all, if some of the characters really remind you of an author named Rednal29’s, don’t worry. He’s me. This is a mule account used for stories that deviate a little from what’s on my other account.
Anyways, I’d like to talk a little about Project Orion at the end of each chapter. To start us off, why did I write this? It’s simple, really. I got the idea from a reviewer, and I wanted to say something with this story. When you’re reading it, try thinking a little about what’s happening to the characters. Now, granted, nothing happened to any of them in this chapter. Yeah, I know, you wanna know why it’s rated ‘R’. Believe me, that stuff’s coming.
Also, these chapters used to be ten thousand words long. But I eventually figured out that doing it in that way wouldn’t really work, and so you have these much more bite-sized chapters.
REVIEW!!
Oh, and I would love at least one nice, long review. Please?
