Two hours later, after listening to this lady's awful pop music, and watching her flourishing brown hair fly behind her, as wind slapped against us, we arrived. A red barn, picture perfect, with a small field fenced in by a white fence. "Funny." I stated, looking over the place. "I didn't take you as the barn sort of girl." I retorded, she laughed heartly.
"You think I go here?" She questioned, and my blank stare answered her question. She rolled her eyes, and popped open the car door sliding out with ease. I hopped over the car door, letting my studded belt scratch against the car, leaving a perfect mark. She shot me a dirty look, in which I returned with a smile. "Come on," she said impatiently grabbing my arm firmly and dragging me in to the barn. "Wes? Wes?" She shrieked, obviously looking for someone. A dirty blonde appeared imediatly.
"He's not here," she said with a heavy southern accent as she pinned her hair up in a pony tail. She was a foot smaller then both of us, looking around ten, and she chewed gum with her mouth open. She looked over my kidnaper with an unaproving look. This made me smile. My kidnapper sighed angrily.
"Fine!" She said as if the world were to collapse. The ten-year old shot me a pitiful look, and I returned it with a 'help me'. My kidnapper snapped out her cellphone and hastily dialed in a number. "Pick up, pick up. Wes! Good. Look, I have a kid here and last time you got mad that I ran over the last pedestrian so I'm bringing this one to you." Pause. "Yes, well she didn't look like she had a home." Another pause, the kidnapper's hand went to her hip. "No, i didn't ask!" Pause. "I don't care! Get your ass over here!" I snickered, and she slapped her cellphone shut. "What?" She spat at me, I faked a smile.
"Oh, nothing."
"Well I got to go, I'll leave you with Snap," she said motioning to the blonde girl. Snap, grabbed my hand and pulled me down the long barn hall. My kidnapper left.
"Where am I?" I asked
"Here." Snap replied.
"Where's here?"
"A barn."
"Where are we going?" We stopped and she took reigns from the ground and opened the stall door, then tossed me the reigns. "I haven't rode in a while."
"Doesn't take a genius. This is Ginger, she's stubborn. If you die, good ridance. Wes is out in the woods somewhere. He'll be expecting you." I nodded, putting the reigns on the horse. She was already saddled, I led her out of the stall and down the dirty hall. The horrid smell, clogged my nose and I thought of the last time I had been in a horse barn. It's where I had gotten my first crush on a boy name George. He was wild, and loved riding. I was twelve, right before my parents died. I shivered, as the hair on my back stood up. Stop the self- pity. We were already in the field, I mounted drawing the reigns right in my hand. I dug my heels in to Ginger, and she was off. Cantering so fast I could barely see where we were going, I put my faith in the wind whipped my hair back, and thought, worries, life seemed to vanish.
After thirty minutes of wandering around the forest, I finally came upon another horse. It was black with white socks, and there was a man on the back of it. "Yo," I greeted riding up beside him. He furrowed his eyebrows, looking me up and down.
"Your the homeless girl?" He asked, and I shrugged looking him up and down. "You don't look homeless to me."
"All I need is a place to stay for the weekend. I can go back to my house on monday, I was kicked out for the weekend." He chuckled, and kicked his feet in his horse letting it go to a gallop. I did the same galloping beside him.
"You've riden before." He stated.
"A few years ago." I replied.
"Your good."
"I know." I replied, giving him a smile. I put my horse to a canter, leaving him in the dust. He looked good.
