A melody plays in my head

jovial, and full of spirit

but listening closely, the beautiful song

turns minor,

and is a complex song

of pain

frustration

and unbearable loss

There is no joy

behind the lively façade

just sorrow

incomprehensible sorrow

and nothing seems right

and nothing seems fair

a song of sadness

for a world of despair
