She had perched quietly upon the old shop roof. The warm shingles had burnt slightly to her skin. But the pain quickly faded as she sat.

A sigh escaped her lips as she stared out into the ever-fading sky. ‘How long has it bin?’ came a soft younger version of her voice from inside her mind.

“Almost three years…” she muttered in annoyance and amazement.

Three long years… Had it truly bin that long? Three years since she had fought by the side of Ryan Silver in the war against the Trolls of Arnic. Since she had screamed and then laughed in fears face. It had bin three years since Death had nearly missed her.

But Death had shown its face one more time almost half a yes after she had returned with Ryan to come home. She might have escaped Death with grace and quick wit but her Master was weakened by his age and was not as lucky as she was.

Deaths shadow had come upon her Master like fire to dried wood. The longer the shadow dwelled the bigger the fire got and the faster it spread. In the end Death had raped her Master of his Life.

After her master had passed away into the next plain Ryan had volunteered to help her with the store.

Ryan had stayed for almost a year until one day he just up and left.

FLASH BACK

“Kolina I must go. It seems that Arnic has slipped back into the control of the Trolls. Those bastards…” Ryan swore softly as he began throwing his clothing into a small tattered bag. It always amazed Kolina how he could throw many things in it and it never would get any heavier then a loaf of bread, or any bigger for that matter.

“But Ryan I’m still to young to run this shop on my own I’m not even eighteen yet!” Kolina cried pulling on Ryans sleeve so that he looked at her.

A soft smile played on his lips as he gazed lovingly at her. Not a love for her as a woman but for her as a child. He had grown found of her and was proud that he had finished almost all her training. She was a good student, a close friend, and most of the closest thing he had to a daughter.

“Kolina please my dear don’t fluster yourself to much I shall be back in due time.” Ryan smiled touching her cheek softly, “Nothing will happen I have complete and total faith in you my child.”

“But Ryan I am only a small child in this world!” Kolina cried again trying to make him stay or at least take her with him.

As if reading her mind Ryans look hardened, “You shall not be accompanying me in this trip Kolina.” He took his hand from her cheek and kissed her on the forehead, “Kolina you are a daughter to me and I will do anything I can to protect and help you but I can not let innocent people die by the hands of those horrid trolls. Arnic needs someone to help them fight. I will not be gone long. Remember you are looking at the great Ryan Silver.”

Kolina sighed her light brown hair fell upon her face as she lowered her head in a bow. “I am sorry Ryan I wish you nothing but luck on your mission.”

“My dear Kolina I need no luck, I just need the faith of others and I shall succeed.” Ryan said softly before hugging her one last time before he picked up his bags and left the store.

Kolina stood here in silence unsure if she should cry or just hide her tears and see him off. As if someone had pushed Kolina her body began to run to the door of the store but it was to late. Ryan was gone and was slowly becoming a small figure on the horizon.

“GOOD BYE!” She cried waving as tears fell from her face, “Take care Ryan Silver!” She never did get a reply from him but she could tell he turned and smiled at her, the smile that always held mischief and mystery.

END OF FLASH BACK

Kolina was snapped out of her thoughts as she heard a small ringing noise and the small yelps of her little puppy. “Oh the store.” She gasped. She had forgotten all about it being lost in her own thoughts.

With a quick leap Kolina jumped threw her bedroom window and quickly made her ways downstairs to the store. “I am terribly sorry Sir I didn’t mean to keep you waiting…”

Kolina stopped as she looked up at the young man in front of her. His hair was fine silver and was cut rather mess; it hung just above his ears. His eyes were deep piercing green, his face was soft yet stern at the moment. His shoulders were broad and look powerful, the same could be said for his arms. The clothing on his chest clung to him slightly revealing his muscular body and stomach, not overly muscular just a muscle outline. His tattered green material t-shirt and his brown baggy pants suggested he had bin traveling for a while.

Kolina blushed as she realized she was staring, “I am sorry I was off in my own world Sir. Can I help you?”

The man did not reply he just stared at Kolina. He watched as she turned her head slight looking to see what he was staring at. His eyes fell upon her hair, the soft waves came down past her shoulders to her breasts, her skin was almost ivory colored, her lips a soft pink. Those deep pools of brown eyes were something he could swim in for hours.

Her shoulders were tall and she stood proud although she looked rather confused wondering what he was staring at. She wore a brown dress with a white long sleeve one underneath; it was tattered in places and was well worn. But it still looked very nice on her.

“Sir?” Her voice was like honey and sounded just as sweet.

“Hmm?” Was all he could say as he kept his eyes locked on her making her blush further.

“Can I help you with anything?” Kolina stated again growing more and more nervous as he continued to stare at her.

“I m looking for an old friend of the family.” Was all he stated. He began to look around the shop seeming uninterested and detached from everything. He turned his gaze upon her again, “My uncle has sent me here to give her news. Her name is Kolina.”

“I am she…” Kolina said softly walking towards him, ‘Who is this guy?’ a small voice asked inside her mind.

“Well it is certainly s pleasure to meet you.” He smiled, as he spoke now seeming not as cold and eerie as he had.

“It’s nice to meet you too…” Kolina hadn’t gotten his name yet.

“Oh how rude of me,” He scooped up Kolina hand bowed and kissed it softly, “I am Andrew Silver, son of Jasmin and Thomas Silver, nephew to Ryan Silver.”

Kolina blushed and then gasped at Ryan Silvers name. She pulled her hand quickly from his and grasped his shoulders shaking him slightly, “Were is he? Is he hurt? Is he alright!?”

“By Merlin you ask A LOT off questions.” Andrew drew himself back from Kolina grip and placed his hands over her as her eyes clouded over obviously her mind was thick with thought. “Kolina?”

“Yes?” She answered softly looking up at the now soft smiled Andrew. Giving him her full attention.

“Uncle Ryan as completely all right and completely unharmed. He’s as good as an old bat can be.” Andrew spoke softly a small smirk playing on his lips with his last sentence hoping to get on small laugh from the girl.

Kolina giggled softly as he called Ryan an old bat. She could never bring herself to joke about him like that. Suddenly something struck her mind, “Oh.” Whispered taking a hand from Andrew and placing it over her mouth.

“What’s wrong? Did I say something to offend you?” Andrew asked softly, looking rather concerned. ‘Oh Andrew boy what have you done now?’

“Oh heavens no.” Kolina sighed softly giving a small smile again, “I haven’t laughed in awhile, it’s bin a long time since I have done that.”

“Well that’s a real shame.” Andrew spoke softly, “You look very pretty when you smile.” A small smirk rose on Andrews’s lips as he watched Kolina turn red. Seeing as he had made Kolina embarrassed Andrew decided to change the subject. “My uncle sent me here to watch over you. He told me that he had a dream, a premonition, if you will to something big and deadly coming your way.”

Kolina stepped back slightly, “Your uncle should know that I can face anything and everything that comes my way.” Kolina grew red slightly angered, ‘How dare he send his nephew to baby-sit me! I am no child!’ A dark spark came softly from her body. “Oh.” A gasp of surprise escaped her lips. ‘I need to calm myself.’

Andrew had no noticed the spark come from Kolina body, and tried not to jump back as she glared at him deadly, “Well I must say, my uncle told me much about you.” A nervous laugh came from his chest as he scratched his head slightly. “He told me you were cleaver, and of your talent of the arts…” Andrew stared deeply into Kolinas eyes, “but not of your beauty.”

Kolinas body calmed instantly as her cheeks crept to a rosy red. Her mouth opened as if to speak but she shut it quickly realizing it was that good of an idea to speak at the moment.

“I am sorry to discomfort you, I tend to speak my mind.” Andrew spoke softly again as if tending to a child. Kolina caught note of this but said nothing.

Finally she regained normal colours to her cheeks, “Um where do you plan on staying? Do you have any idea how long you’ll be here?”

“I haven’t the slightest clue in all honesty” Andrew spoke softer now keeping up his ‘you are a small child voice’. “Uncle never really planned that great into detail did he?”

Kolina sighed brushing her hair behind her ear. “No I suppose he didn’t…” Sighing again Kolina thought of what she should do with her new guest and visitor.
