Even The Thousandth Generation:
For Our Daughter Yet Conceived

Know this, sweet Katie
You are a precious gift of promise
A miracle being formed

In the anxious landscape of
Evolving events
That should be tragic.
Yet, instead

I see a trail of His Light

Shining on a vision
Of your yet born face.

Crying your first breath
Of L’Chaim…to Life…

…Needing the nourishment of

your mother’s nutrition and your gentle father’s protective love…

learning how to talk and walk…and eat solid food…

crawling in the kitchen, pulling out the pots and pans…

…running pell-mell thru the house laughing and giggling…

Mischievously smiling in a photo when you will be four.

Growing tall in the purpose of your eternal calling….
carrying the names of your maternal lineage…
...May you be like Sarah, Rebecca and Rachel.

In the Arms of His Love…
I see the strong-willed beauty of your face.

You are and yet will be…
Our Katie-Grace.

(For Katriel-Grace Luella)

7) The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
8) But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath he had sworn to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9) Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.

(Save Charlee-Grace would also be very beautiful. We have a tradition in our family... naming daughters after an adopted aunt or uncle. Richard plus Harlee equals Charlee... 3/27/06)
