A short Naevaerland poem, written quite some time ago and just now found in the depths of my computer. In case it isn’t obvious, I was listening to a lot of Nirvana at the time.

Saund’s Elegy

Come this way, say hello

come to me and bare your soul

tell me all, I won’t repeat

Just lay your heart before my feet

Speak to me of what you know

the fantasies your spirit grows

the light and dark within your mind

the nightmares you would leave behind

Your thought is mine, to shape, to mold

the voices of your past I hold

the yesteryears that haunt your nights

your darkest fears and heart’s delights

So much I hold, but there is more

the things you lock behind closed doors

memories I cannot reach

lessons I cannot unteach

Though your past belongs to me alone

your heart is not for me to own

In sleep and dreams I follow you

Would that dreams indeed came true

Within your fires let me burn

Myself I’ll give you in return

the whole of you I wish to own

for I am yours, and yours alone
