Trust is stretched
as far as the eye can see,
it seems to scare others
while it holds together you and me

Reliance in the truce
we made all those years ago:
that we would kick habits to the curb,
be quick to think but talk slow

Confidence that we are
as high as the sky, but humbled
that we won’t second guess,
but correct the mistakes we’ve fumbled

Assurance to each other
that backwards glances are futile:
paranoia will get us no where,
it would be a hard journey, brutal

Dependence on the fact
that we can take it for granted
so that when we finally realize,
'this is trust', it will be a seed deeply planted

Faith in each other’s souls,
Belief in each other’s words
It’s a beautiful thing to behold,
Always apart yet always ensured.
