To Mr. Invisible man,
Here is another poem for you,
One I suspect you will never see,
But everyday I sit and watch,
Staring out this window,
Your voice is calling in the background,
But I’ve never heard your voice before,
I don’t think you’d even speak to me,
‘Cause of all the things I’ve ever done,
I think I hurt you more than me,
We seem o have this past we share,
Some friends we have are the same,
And we both seem placed in the same situations,
But your face is blurred from my memory,
There is a girl I seem to know,
Who is so important to you,
I don’t see what she does for you,
When she’s with someone else,
And every time I look at him,
I know what I have lost,
And I won’t be the same,
Until his face is gone from me,
You and I we seem to be,
Sitting in the same boat,
Rocking in the same storm,
When it’s all about our friends,
I’ve fallen down these holes before,
And I’ve slowed my pace before,
I wonder if you’re following suite,
When I know your heart is not at ease,
But somehow you always seem to end,
Helping me off the floor,
I wish I could do the same for you
But we don’t talk at all,
We don’t even know each other,
You’ve never had to say a word,
Yet I know there is a part of you that cared,
I’ve felt like this before you know,
Through all the years I’ve lived in pain,
And I don’t want to see your anguish,
When you think that no one’s looking,
I’ve been through these paces before,
Yet I want to save you from the misery,
Every time I tried to hide myself away,
And when the pain became unrealistic,
The world would shut me out,
And my friends would think I’m fine,
But their definition seems not mine,
When they think freak is such a norm,
Yet you would look at me like a human being,
It’s hard for me to know my words are not enough,
To explain what you have down for me,
To show you all the steps I’ve taken,
Without leaning on your image,
Everyday it seems to me,
That I’m staring out this window,
Wishing I had said the words I never could,
Hoping one day soon I could say them,
When they matter most,
For just being there for me to see,
You’ve changed my world and so much more,
Especially I must say,
When I thought the windows curtained,
And the door tightly locked,
Love forever and always,
The girl you won’t remember.
