What must be affirmed in the hearts of men

On this little rock adrift?

Why so staunch in their affirmations that

THERE IS MEANING

Or

THERE IS NONE

What emptiness can consume and replace religion…or build it?

I am certain it is the same.

Can’t they look at those glittering stars and know

And know that

Knowing is enough?

What is it that drives a man’s heart in to

Manmade light or self-made darkness?

Don’t they know It’s there?
