WARNING: Ummmmmm… I don't actually think I have any for this fic… Go figure.

Author's Note: Okay, I know it's really bad to have so many fics going at once, but I can't help it! The plot bunnies ambushed me… Anyway this is a collection of ficlets focusing around a group of ten kids in their third grade year. There will be at least two sequels to this, possibly even four or five. The chapters aren't supposed to be long. And, that's it, I think. Blame Harry Potter for my inspiration

Kyle Zupan enters his new classroom nervously. His older brother told him that in third grade you get homework every night, and that all the teachers are really mean and nasty. His older sister told him that the work is really hard and that they have to share a playground with the 5th graders, who will probably beat him up at least once. His mother told him that girls start liking boys in the third grade.

Kyle is not looking forward to third grade.

He looks around his new classroom. It looks bright and cheery, with funky boarders around the bulletin boards and colorful poster on the walls. There are a few computer towards the back and at the teacher's desk there sits a young looking woman who smiles at him as he walks in.

"Hello," she says. "Who are you?"

"Kyle Zupan," he replies. She doesn't seem mean and nasty, but Kyle is still wary. She looks at a clipboard and directs him towards a desk near the front. He sits down, putting the bag with all his new school supplies next to him. There are already a few people here, but he doesn't know any of them.

More students come in. Kyle recognizes a few by sight, but not until his best friend, Luke Wright, comes in does he smile. Luke's desk is next to his and they grin at each other. More people enter the classroom, including Kyle's self proclaimed rival, Zach Kessler. He glares at Zach when the other boy sits in the other seat next to him. Zach just ignores him.

Finally, all the kids are seated and the teacher looks around the classroom. She smiles as she looks at all the kids and her eyes land in particular on the three boys in the second row. Kyle is still glaring at Zach, brown eyes narrowed and brown hair falling into his face. To the left of him Luke is looking at the front board, twirling his fingers around strawberry blonde hair, green eyes unfocused. Zach is still ignoring Kyle, and his grey eyes are staring up at the ceiling, head titled back for that his blonde hair falls out of his face. The teacher smiles and she knows that those three boys will always cross each other's paths, whether they want to or not.

She clears her throat, and Kyle stops glaring at Zach and looks up at her. She is a pretty woman, with red hair and green eyes, and a kind smile on her face. "Good morning!" she says. "Welcome to the third grade! My name is Ms. Eddings and I am your teacher. I promise that, despite what you may have been told, third grade is very fun and not that hard at all!"

Kyle looks at smiling face and he know she's not lying. He smiles. Maybe third grade won't be so bad after all.

A/N: Okay, so that's the first chapter. This will probably be easier to update than my other fics because the chapter don't have to be so long, but it may be awhile between updates.
