My bout with naivety...

It was a painful experience,

One that I am not sure I learned from.

It was a telling experience,

Of how much life I had yet to live.

It was a growing experience,

Of how immaturity will not get you through life.

Overall, though, it was an experience,

An experience that even the greatest are doomed to repeat.
