said the waves of the sea to the sleepy gull birds

let me lull you to dreams of soft, fluffy clouds

and of dark moonlit beaches that stretch till eternity

of crisp, sparkling air over blue crashing waters

and the moon smiles down, smiles down

so the waves started singing their lone wordless song

and the melody older than time

washed over the sand on the shore

and the moon smiled down smiled down

said the waves of the sea to the drowsy sea fish

let me carry you off to the seas of forever

where the water flows clear and the sky shines silver

where the corals gleam like living jewels

and the moon smiles down, smiles down

so the waves started singing their lone wordless song

and the melody bore itself down through the waters

and the rippling reflection of the stars in the sky laughed

as the moon smiled down smiled down

said the waves of the sea to a small lonely boy at the edge of the shore

let me whisk you off to the beach of infinite

where sea glass and shells lie abundant as flowers

where tiny sand crabs scuttle across golden sand

and the moon smiles down, smiles down

so the waves started singing their lone wordless song

and the melody danced with the careless beach breeze

and as the boy skipped a stone across the blue water,

the moon smiled down smiled down.
