A bard, are you? Here to tell a story... sing a song... What makes you think that I want to hear your stories? I know your kind. You're propagators of lies. You fill our heads with fancy. Tell us what we want to hear, ignoring the simple fact that there is truth in this world, and sometimes this truth is more beautiful and terrible. Exciting and frightening... More real than anything you can dream up.
And even in the most horrible songs, there is a beauty in its core if it reflects the truth...
You want to tell me a story? What makes you think you know my mind well enough to invent what I want to hear?
I have a proposition for you, bard. Let me tell the story today. Maybe if you hear a taste of truth, you'll understand why I can only see the ugly falsehood in your happy little fairy tales.
And if not... well, perhaps these stories will at least live on. Because when I die, the truth will die with me. And that seems to be even more of a sin than spreading the lies of your profession.
Why don't you have a seat? Get comfortable. My story is a long one.
But that's how the truth goes, right? No solid beginnings. No guarantee of a happy ending.
It's called suspense... Because in my story, the good guy doesn't always win, and we don't always live happily ever after.
We don't always live at all...
Ready? No?
It doesn't matter.

Note: This is a story that has been rattling around in my mind
for years. I apologize for the atrocious title, but this is what
I've been calling it since the storyline was first created. I
hope you can forgive that. Chapters will be longer than
this. I can't guarantee how often updates will be. This is
difficult for me to actually write. But I'd really love feedback,
since this is my first original fiction chapter story that I'm posting!
