"Small Town Girl"

I'm just a small town girl

I don't need any MP3's

or CD's.

I'm content just listening to the radio,

Or, no,

Content just sitting,

Listening

To absolutely nothing,

Being able to look to the sky

And see the stars.

You may think I'm insane

When I say

That

I don't want to be

A small town girl.

I want to see the world

And meet its many people -

Big and little,

Rich and poor,

I want to explore,

But most of all

I just don't want to be

A small town girl.

Sure, I love the peace and quiet.

Of course I like the security,

But until I leave this place,

I just will not feel like me.

And I know

That if I go,

I will surely find a way,

To come back to where

My dream first began,

But for now I just can't stay.

I must see it all,

And do it all,

But most of all,

I know deep down, you see,

I will always be

A small town girl.
