Self-Esteem issues:

Caution!

Under high pressure;

Flammable;

May explode without warning

Or alarm due to

Mourning over itself.

Beware!

Deep thought in progress

About who can be better

Than me and my friends.

But wherever you are,

I’m always thinking about you.

You’re perfect.

I love every (callused) toe,

And every (poison) kiss.

Quiet!

She takes too much to heed

About mumbled breathes from

Older boys past and second-

Turn around glances.

But they don’t even know you;

They can just look at you.

They don’t know the least bit

About you; like how would they know

What I do?

I know you.

I love you.

But; wait; accusations fly!

You make me cry when I’m

Alone;

At home;

After you leave and go

Off with them.

But I never want to leave you.

If I didn’t have to;

Then I would just never.

Never leave.

You always do!

I want you so badly; don’t

You realize or feel it?

Can’t you tell?

Can’t

You

Tell—

Love is amazing.

What?

I love how you make your judgments

About what I’d never dream of doing

To you; no; no; not ever again.

You know I wouldn’t

Because I love every callused toe

And every poison kiss

And every untrue accusation

That you seem to conjure up.

I’m yours.
