When does a person become broken?
When you are lost in another's dreams.
A life that is wasted and forsaken
Is a facade with open seams.

The future appears hazy and daunting.
Each step seems painfully wrong.
The hollowness of your eyes is haunting.
Your sighs are achingly long.

When did you become so lost?
I would wonder with dismay.
When you pushed yourself at all cost,
To live in someone else's day.

When the keeper of mortality comes seeking,
For your tired and aching soul.
