Pure Snow

I watched the snow falling down from the fluffy clouds just as fluffy and white as the frozen crystals.

I loved winter. It was nice and cold and I could have hot chocolate all the time without an explanation.

The snow had fallen thickly on the ground and it came up to my ankles, covering the thick soles of my stompy boots. Kyle bought me these boots so my feet wouldn’t be as cold when we went outside. He hated the cold himself, which is why my boyfriend was inside.

I trudged along the filed at the back of my aunt’s holiday cottage. She’d let us stay there for the winter holidays, as long as we didn’t make too much mess.

The field was very big, with hedges around the boarder and trees near the corners. There was snow covered hills in every direction, and it looked very picturesque. I loved it.

Walked further into the field I stumbled over a rabbit hole, landing face down in the cold snow. I giggled slightly to myself before rolling on my back and making a snow angel. I stood up and admired my work before flopping down and doing another.

I soon got bored after I’d made about 13, so I decided to make a mini snowman. I say mini because I had no gloves on and I didn’t want my hands to go numb.

Suddenly getting Linkin Park stuck in my head, I hummed a song while rolling balls to make the body and head.

In the end it just came up to my waist but I was pleased and found rocks and a few bits of grass for hair. When I’d done I thought of my friend Jake, who had recently dyed his hair green. Laughing, I moved closer to the cottage.

“Sammy!” A voice called out to me. I looked up at the cottage to see Kyle at the door, wrapped up in a black sweater. “Come on inside, you’ll freeze otherwise!” He yelled, flinging his longish auburn hair out of his eyes.

Giggling, I ran to the door and into his arms.
