Pandora’s Box
I traveled a little farther than tomorrow,
past the dewdrops, left over from the
aftermath of the thunderstorm.
And I thought to myself how
beautiful they are, dripping,
from the green leaves.
There is a path I see before
me, dark and dreary, causing
hesitation and doubt, aspects which
I cannot and will not grasp.
When I have reached the seashore
of my dreams, I shall tell you
the location of that quarter of Heaven
which shall liberate us from our forlorn labyrinth.
I cannot wait till the locked door opens
and all my aspirations are set free.
Until then, I shall sit and count
the stars of tomorrow and yesterday.
Maybe one day my nightmares shall
fall into bittersweet nostalgia and I will walk
free without the burden of past reservations.
Rapture will become living truth,
and we shall walk together to that
province of hope and future prospects, and
at last we shall have escaped from Pandora’s Box.
