He gazed down into the brilliant, sky blue eyes that looked back at him. He couldn't help but smile at the twinkle that flashed in and out of existence in them. He couldn't remember having seen a happier light.

Sunlight shimmered in her golden blonde hair. He stroked her hair softly, feeling it's fine and smooth texture. It was so soft and so radiant. No other woman in the world could have had more beautiful hair.

Her cheeks glowed a light pink as if kissed by a rose. Her skin was smooth, soft, and radiated life. Her round cheeks gave way to a wide smile, accompanied by a small giggle. The sound of her voice elated him, ignited in him a love he thought he would never feel for any other.

He reached for her hands, spreading it with his own, extending her fingers to their full length. She had such beautiful hands; so perfect! Perfectly shaped, with perfectly pink finger nails. He traced his own fingers up and down each of hers and then across her palm. A peal of laughter escaped her perfect mouth.

He held her tight and hugged her to him. He thought of how he could have possibly been so lucky to have obtained a being of such pure beauty for his own.

The father looked down into the smiling face of his baby daughter and whispered, "I wish your mother was here to see you."
