I wished for the worst
And hoped for a tragedy
Now here you lay
With roses in your hands
And eyes shut to the world
Never to open again
Now, if only you could ask me
Am I satisfied yet?
Let's take back the words
And grievances that passed
I'm over my little phase
So you can come back to us
Say anything, do something
Just don't tell me it's too late
You needed my help
You seeked my advice
But I shrugged you off
Saying "Do what you want"
And "everything will be okay"
Now I watch the drugs kick in
And stop your heart
For the very last time
Let's start over now
And take our words back
I'll lend a listening ear
If you'll start breathing again
So say anything or do something
Please don't tell me it's too late
They say you're never coming back
That you're far, far away
But maybe if I pray
You'll return to me
And we'll laugh like we did
It'll all be fine
As long as you don't say
It's too little too late
